Roy M
Tiverton, Devon
“We have had our solar panels, insulation and air source heat pump all for free as part of the ECO4 scheme. I’m so glad that we done this we are saving about £800 per year compared to when we were using our old oil boiler. The house is much warmer thanks to the loft insulation and under floor insulation and the big radiators that were installed. My wife and I would highly recommend this company.”
Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
We like to provide as much information as possibe to help you with your requests. Below is a list of our Frequently Asked Questions, but if there’s something else you need to know, please just get in touch and we will be happy to help.
Will I still own my roof if I get solar panels?
You will own all of the energy saving measures outright from day 1. No rental agreements, no contracts, nothing. You will still own your home and will not have any problems selling your property. In fact, we have found that these energy prices can actually increase the value of your home.
Do I have to be on benefits to be eligible for this?
Is this scheme completely free?
Local Authority (LAD) scheme, Home Upgrade Grant (HUG), Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) scheme. We work with a range of installers across the UK to help deliver these schemes for free to UK residents.
Different funding and grants are available in different areas based on circumstances and the energy efficiency of your home. All of these schemes are in place to improve the energy efficiency of properties in the UK as part of the Government’s net zero pledge.
Who is eligible for the scheme?
There are over 3.5 million homes across the UK eligible for the scheme. We have a simple eligibility checker which tells you in just 30 seconds whether you are eligible for the scheme. We do not require any personal information to tell you whether you are eligible.
Do Solar Panels still work in the UK?
We use Solar PV panels which rely on daylight, not sunlight to generate power. Whislt there is less sunlight during the winter, Solar PV panels still generate vast amounts of clean energy to use in your home.
How efficient are Air Source Heat Pumps?
Air source heat pumps typically have an efficiency rate of 300%, though the best ones can reach much higher rates.
This means that on average, your air source heat pump will produce three units of energy for every unit of electricity it absorbs.
To put this in context, the average UK home uses just over 12,000 kWh per year for heating, and your heat pump would be able to provide the same amount of heat from just 4,000 kWh.
